Enhanced DBS Checks

All tutors engaged by Intuitio hold a full Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate before working with any student. No tutor is permitted to commence sessions until a satisfactory Enhanced DBS certificate has been received and verified by us.

Our Enhanced DBS checks are enhanced criminal record certificates within the meaning of sections 113B and 116 of the Police Act 1997. They include checks against:

  • All criminal records held by the Police National Computer, including convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings
  • Information from the list held under Section 142 of the Education Act 2002 (formerly known as List 99), which records individuals who are barred or have restrictions placed on their work with children in education
  • The DBS Children's Barred List, which records individuals who are legally prohibited from working with children
  • The DBS Adults' Barred List, where applicable
  • Any additional information held by local police forces that is considered relevant to the role

DBS certificates are renewed regularly and we maintain an up-to-date record of all certifications held by tutors on our network.

Our Safeguarding Commitment

Intuitio is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all tutors, staff, and anyone associated with our service to share this commitment. Our approach is guided by the principles set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (DfE, 2023) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (HM Government, 2023).

We recognise that safeguarding and child protection is everyone's responsibility. All tutors are required to complete safeguarding training prior to their first session and to keep that training up to date.

Online Safety

The majority of our sessions are conducted online via video call. We take online safety seriously and expect all tutors to:

  • Conduct sessions in an appropriate, well-lit environment with no inappropriate content visible in the background
  • Never request contact with students outside of formally arranged sessions
  • Never communicate with students via personal social media, personal email, or messaging platforms outside of the agreed session tools
  • Report any online safety concerns to Intuitio immediately

Reporting a Concern

If you have a safeguarding concern — whether about a student, a tutor, or any aspect of our service — please contact us immediately. We treat all concerns with the utmost seriousness and in strict confidence.
